OUR NEW ADDITIONS TO THE TEAM
We would like to welcome both Gary Chatwin and Barry Woodhall to the Rock and Water team.
Gary is our new Office Manager and Barry is our Contracts Manager.
Both have worked in the landscape design industry in and around Warwickshire and Stratford for many years, and are proving to be valuable members of the team.
NEW VISITOR'S WELCOME CENTRE AT TWYCROSS ZOO
The new Visitor Welcome Centre is a landmark for the East Midlands Region has put Twycross Zoo on the map as one of the top British attractions. With the support and funding from the East Midlands Development Agency, over £7m has been invested in this development.
Our team was commissioned to design and build a Himalayan Mountain enclosure with resident Snow Leopards and a Shore Bird enclosure. The Welcome centre has a new 300 seat restaurant which looks out onto the Snow Leopards plus a function room for conferences and events overlooking a naturalistic wetland aviary for the shore birds.
The visitors centre building was already underway when we started our part of the project on June 22nd 2009. Over the last 12 months progress has been fantastic with the project delivered on time and on budget despite the interesting weather at the beginning of the year. Congratulations to Lee Wake, our project manager, for making good headway and bringing the project in on time.
This has been an exciting venture, aiding us in our move forward into the commercial sector, which will work along side our current aquatic projects.
